SAFEGUARDING AT NEWTOWN

At Newtown Junior Football Club, the safety and well-being of our players is our top priority. We are fully committed to providing a secure, supportive, and nurturing environment where every child and young person can enjoy football and develop their skills free from harm.

Our safeguarding policy is built on the following key principles:

Child Protection: We recognise our duty of care to safeguard all children and young people involved with our club. We are committed to ensuring that our players are protected from any form of abuse, neglect, or exploitation.

Safe Recruitment: All coaches, volunteers, and staff members are subject to rigorous background checks and must complete relevant safeguarding training before working with our young players. We only engage with individuals who demonstrate a commitment to the safety and welfare of children.

Education and Awareness: We provide ongoing safeguarding education to our staff, players, and parents to ensure that everyone understands the importance of safeguarding, recognises the signs of abuse, and knows how to report concerns.

Clear Reporting Procedures: We have established clear and confidential reporting procedures for anyone who has concerns about the safety or welfare of a child. All concerns will be taken seriously and dealt with promptly and appropriately by our designated safeguarding officer.

Open and Inclusive Environment: We encourage open communication within our club, where players feel safe to express themselves and seek help if they need it. We promote an inclusive atmosphere where every player is respected and valued, regardless of their background or ability.

Continuous Review: Our safeguarding practices are regularly reviewed and updated in line with best practices and legal requirements to ensure we are always providing the highest level of care for our players.

We expect all members of Newtown Junior Football Club, including players, coaches, staff, and parents, to share our commitment to safeguarding and to work together to uphold these values. By doing so, we can ensure that football remains a positive, enjoyable, and safe experience for every child in our care

ANTI-BULLYING

At Newtown Junior Football Club, we are committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all our players, coaches, and supporters. Bullying, in any form, has no place in our club. We stand united against any behaviour that seeks to harm, intimidate, or undermine others, whether on or off the pitch.

We believe that football should be a positive experience where every player feels valued and encouraged. Our club promotes teamwork, respect, and fair play as core values, and we expect all members to uphold these principles. Bullying not only damages the individual but also the spirit of our team and the integrity of the sport.

If you witness or experience bullying within our club, we urge you to speak out. Coaches, team managers, and club officials are available to listen and take appropriate action. We are committed to addressing any incidents of bullying swiftly and effectively to ensure the well-being of our players and the harmony of our club community.

Let us work together to foster a culture of kindness, respect, and mutual support, where everyone can enjoy the beautiful game and thrive as part of the Newtown family.
